Sunday Brunch at Soho+
August 06, 2012
This summer is without a doubt all about great food and amazing
places...
This weekend was such a lovely weather, it would be shame to stay closed at home so I could not do better then to pick from
Lime&Tonic offers on how, where and
most importantly with what type of food we will relax our Sunday through and my finger imaginary stopped
on Sunday Brunch at Soho+.
I have to admit, it is one of the restaurants I was longing
to visit for some time now. Since I love good food (who doesn´t) and by september I
wont be able to eat all that yummy stuff again, I have to squezze all those
experiences to minimum time (August). Although I don´t complain cause this is
dream come true for me. Food. Addiction. Love it!
Soho+ restaurant offers 4 different brunch menu. Czech, Italian, French and Fusion. I
personally set my eye on Fusion menu straight away, but backed up last moment
because I was afraid it would be too spicy for me. Only soup was spicy...slightly and I know that because luckily, my companion
wasn´t sharing this fear and ordered Fusion menu, so that gave me space to choose my second favorite...French one. In the
end we mixed it anyways…so I could try both of my favorite picks and my brunch was puzzled together from Cold soup
Vichyssiose
followed with Baked goat cheese with lettuce salad and balsamic dressing (which was just light fluffy feathers like....my most favorite!!)
from French menu and main
course super Soho Wok (with red ginger,
coriander, oyster-plum sauce, baked noodles)
and as icing unrivaled Strawberries
mashed in chilli-sugar, mascarpone cream from Fusion menu.
Mildly grilled tuna fish with lamb´s lettuce and togarashi sauce
All the food looked and tasted really amazing except for creme
brulee, that unfortunately wasn´t well done. Sort of unfinished. Too sparse. Which was shame. But
even with that slight step aside, all of our food was like heaven on tongue!
The only cloud on our sunny day was waiter, who changed his attitude the moment
he finded out we are on pre-paid action. In sence that we are somwhere where we normaly could not afford it which is nonsense. He was polite alright but got sort of annoyed and
tense, kept double checking If its really paid for and looked unsatisfied
with all our drink orders and kept us pushing to order more. Nothing seemed enought. I do get his point, but my fiancee doesn´t like to feel pushed into something (just like any man I would say) so it kept creating uncomfortable atmosphere between waiter and us. I tried to save the situation by ordering more drinks for myself, but in the end I don´t think I was succesful in this mission to satisfy both sides.
Soho+ Restaurant is very romantic, placed right next to river, all covered
in innocent white veil that brings clean relaxed mood and food is really really
delicious. They have profesional stuff that looks after your children If you
have them with you, which comes really handy to leave you with free hands for a while to calmly eat your own food. Enjoying yourself on a sunny terrase surrounded by huge bed
lounge is really cool. Makes you feel like you are on holidays by the sea.
And who wouldn´t enjoy that? ;-)
I will definately go back with hope that waiters will be more relaxed and smile now and then!
Food would earn here ***** from me definately!
Design of restaurant ***** as well
Stuff restaurant *** but Im sure it just wasn´t their day or we weren´t sympatic to them, but as a paying customer I do not welcome this kind of treatment.
